Thirsty Thursday: Red Wine Christmas Spritzer

Do not lie to yourself – you are ready for Christmas and you are thrilled to have another excuse to let your diet go for just a day or two.

With this Christmas Spritzer you’ll be able to have some fizz with your buzz and who can complain about that? Santa, I swear I’ve been good this year.

  • Red Wine
  • Diced Strawberries
  • Sprite
  • Ice
  • Mint

Pour about four cups of a light, nice red table wine into a pitcher, mix with about one cup diced strawberries, about two cups of ice and top with about two chugs of Sprite. Mix, pour over ice and top with a fresh mint leaf!

Festive, fruity and fabulous.

A la Mochachocolata Rita. Thanks gal:)

Thirsty Thursday: Irish Coffee with Bailey’s and Kahlua

I mean.. come on. Who doesn’t want one of these after a filling meal. Or for breakfast, or around 3pm on a busy work day? That’s right – everyone. This might be the easiest recipe to make – ever! Ingredients may seem to be a bit expensive as you’ll likely not be able to buy a single serving. But then again, will you want only one?

3/4 ounce bailey irish cream
3/4 ounce Kahlua
4 ounces hot coffee
whipped cream

Pour Baileys and Kahlua into Irish coffee glass.
Fill glass with hot coffee.
Top with whipped cream and serve.

Thirsty Thursday: Peppermint White Russians

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous” – Coco Chanel

And so should her cocktails!

Each Thursday from now on I’ll be posting a “Thirsty Thursday” post detailing a fun drink of my choice – or yours if you have something you’re passionate about seeing!

Today’s Thirsty Thursday Treat:

Peppermint White Russians makes 2 drinks

2 oz Peppermint Mocha Kahlua (alternatively you can use regular Kahlua with a 1/4 tsp peppermint extract)
1 oz vodka
2 oz milk, half-and-half or cream

In a large glass or bowl, whisk together all ingredients. Divide between two glasses and add ice.

For a special touch, you can add a candy cane rim by moistening the edge of the glass (before filling) with water and then dipping it in crushed candy canes.
